Featured Speaker: Pediatric Palliative Care
The Coalition to Transform Advanced Care (C-TAC) held its annual summit recently in Washington, D.C., where Jessica Hausauer, executive director at the NCHPC, and Dr. Conrad Williams, the medical director of the MUSC Children’s Hospital interdisciplinary palliative care program, presented on important pediatric palliative care and hospice care policy and advocacy issues including workforce, awareness, and payment. Both featured speakers also represented the NCHPC Pediatric Division.

The NCHPC Pediatric Division (formerly PPC Task Force) began an initiative this year to identify current stakeholder issues and concerns for high quality care for serious illness across the lifespan. The Pediatric Division members include representatives from all 15 members of the Coalition, three family advocates, as well as representatives from aligned stakeholder organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Psychological Association, Association for Child Life Professionals, and the State Coalition Network. Establishing the NCHPC Pediatric Division was thanks in part to the generous support from the Cameron and Hayden Lord Foundation and the Y.C. Ho/Helen and Michael Chiang Foundation.
