New Strategic Framework Released by National Coalition

February 3, 2022. The National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care is releasing a new Strategic Plan highlighting its’ new mission, vision and goals for the next three years. The Coalition’s  13 member organizations are committed to working together to advance health equity, improve quality and advocate for improved serious illness care for all those that need it. 

This new strategic framework highlights the Coalition’s new mission to improve the care of people with serious or life-limiting illnesses by convening the field, advocating for equitable policies and improved health outcomes, establishing best practices, and sharing resources.

    Coalition Comments on the Hospice Proposed Rule FY25
    The NCHPC supports equitable access to quality hospice care for all hospice eligible patients who desire to receive hospice care. Few hospices are in the financial position to take on the risk of costs associated with high intensity palliative treatments for eligible patients at end of life under the current hospice benefit.

    On behalf of the NCHPC, we urge the leadership of the Appropriations Committee and the LHHS Subcommittee to include $12.5 million for the National Institute of Aging (NIA) for the trans-Institute, multi-disease Consortium for Palliative Care Research Across the Lifespan.
